The founder of OEMachem, his knowledge on all areas “chemical” is undeniable (just don’t get him talking on it). Famous internally for saying “yes,… what’s the question?”. His affliction for saying ‘yes’ against all odds has left us with seemingly impossible tasks or timelines however it does serve as a lesson on how to achieve these goals –‘if it can be done it will be done’ is now our motto.
OEMAchems very own Matriarch; her caring nature ensures all of OEMAchems needs are met from coffee, to clothing, to sweepstakes, to Christmas decorations. Nic is the happiest member of the team flying in like a tornado, her singing leaves a little bit to be desired though. Knowing no boundaries she is as happy presenting to the board as crawling through an oil tank. You can often spot her from half a mile as the only pink hi-vis and hard hat.
The queen of the books Amanda is our very own ‘hawk eye’ her ability to spot a missing comma from 30 paces is uncanny. For someone in accounts her mental arithmetic is highly dubious, but “that’s what calculators are for”. Amanda holds the honour for the most hangovers caused by Prosecco.
Mike is the ‘daddy’ of all the Technicians, getting everything organised and sorted out. He is a wiz at tinkering with almost anything and can often be found ‘knee deep’ in gadgets and gizmos that he has invented. He is a man of many talents with a dictionary for a brain and a ‘unique’ sense of humour which takes a little getting used to, but it is what makes Mike, Mike.
He has recently completed a charity cycle ride, of which he should be proud.
Mike just loves dancing and his snake hips together with dulcet tones and stylish shirt/ jackets combos are a sight to behold!
Rebecca's infectious enthusiasm has a positive effect on all around her. She is extremely hard working and takes everything thrown at her confidently in her stride whether that’s breaking up rocks for a grading, packing boxes or sorting out all our marketing needs. We all fear she may end up in a heap at the bottom of the stairs as she moves at the speed of light!
As the baby of the group, her ignorance of some cultural references makes us all feel very old.
Oema would truly not be the same without her.
Rebecca also has an obsession with sloths!!
Our ‘Pint sized’ power house is a huge asset to OEMAchem! Jo has been with us a year now but has fitted in so well it seems like she has been here forever.
She has a very calming, supportive and motherly influence and her naturally organised nature helps us all to keep ‘our ducks in a row’.
That said Jo’s very good at whipping people into shape when they need help.
Our friendly Technician always has a smile and kiss for everyone (well maybe not always for all the boys). He makes the workplace a happy place to be, often treating us to his vocal chords!
Great at accents and ticking things off lists. Always Health and Safety conscious Mark loves to overuse the horn on the forklift.
The most exciting point in the day is his announcement of the arrival of the Fat Van!
Our most recently joined Technician, Paul has quickly fitted into the team and has an eye for detail, which is very beneficial. He is keen to learn anything and everything Chemical. He enjoys weekends with his son, going mountain biking and is an “adrenaline junkie”.
Paul is our official tea maker who also loves sausage rolls, beans and sauce!
Our ‘big hitter’ Jason has come on board to impart his years of experience in not only the Marine industry, but business in general. Your all round ‘good guy’ he brings a calming influence to proceedings and core values. Life in the workplace can be dreary without humour and Jason brings his own special brand to the table, as a natural wind up merchant he keeps all of us on our toes.
He’s a little too enthusiastic when it comes to his share of the cakes, but we can forgive him for that!
Katie is the newest member of the OEMAchem team; she’s super organised and always has her head in a processing document or spreadsheet. She’s busy learning how everyone likes their tea, we’re surprised she hasn’t made a document for that too!
When she’s not working, you will find her running on the streets of Southampton training for her next running event
Lora is one of the newest members of the team and has fitted in wonderfully. She approaches everything with enthusiasm and is a great addition to the team. Enjoys playing the odd practical joke.
She may be small in stature but big in personality, could do with a cushion so that we can see her behind her screen!
